THE PRODUCT
The mattresses are pieces made out of double-twisted mesh shaped as a parallelepiped block (with two prevalent dimensions on the third one) wich, together with the gabions, represent a possible solution to the issues deriving from watercourses and made-made enivronment. Together with the double-twisted mesh gabions, the mattresses Irpid are widely used within hydraulic systems and hydraulic-forestry arrangements. Since ever, our double-twisted mesh, used both for performing arrangement works and hydraulic defence works, are highly recommended for the following reasons: − high structural resistance; - capability to keep the water-filtering system unchanged and stable, thus allowing an adequate filtration with the side groundwaters and delaying the lean periods, besides reducing the surges; − capability to follow the variations of the valley floor. Moreover, differently from the environmental and hydraulic interventions realized by reinforced concrete, the works made out of double-twisted meshes match the environmental framework, favouring the growth of native vegetation. The covering of the mattresses can be carried out either using single sheets as covers, or by applying some mesh rolls. The siting is extremely easy and is performed laying the sheets on the sideways, and fixing them using pegs. After laying some stone materials with the appropriate size, the closing can be performed either laying of the covers or applying the mesh rolls. .
